Open Air Museum of Vintage Equipment

Room reservation

The open-air museum is a new trend in the display of movable and immovable retro exhibits in a specially designated area. Expositions against the backdrop of architectural monuments and reconstructed settlements, in a historical area or in craft workshops, in an open-air natural landscape (skansen) are gaining great popularity among tourists.

The Museum of Retro Techniques in the open air of Alexander Illarionovich Popov (Pechorsky district, the village of Teshevitsy on the 23rd kilometer of the A212 highway) is recognized as one of the best objects of rural tourism in the Pskov region. An interesting collection of vehicles has been assembled on a vast area of 50 hectares: cars and trucks of the Soviet era, motorcycles, horse-drawn vehicles. Visitors to the open-air museum have a unique opportunity to ride vintage cars and plunge into the atmosphere of the last century. There is also a collection of car numbers on which you can trace the history of the Soviet automotive industry, methods of accounting, identification of personal and public transport.

The barn, the exhibits of Soviet electronics in the shed give an idea of the life of the villagers. The hospitable owner of the museum has prepared a whole program "Life in the countryside" with exciting workshops on mowing grass, preparing firewood, knitting brooms, and floriculture. Under the supervision of Alexander Illarionovich, visitors can try their hand at village work; a guest house with all amenities has been prepared for them.

Acquaintance with the history of the country in the skansen museum with the possibility of personal contact with "live" exhibits (driving vintage cars and other vehicles, practicing traditional crafts, agricultural work using agricultural tools) is a modern solution to the issues of enlightenment and patriotic education.
